Wheel Life started because riding an electric unicycle well means knowing what the wheel is doing, and the tools we had were not telling us. One app showed speed but hid PWM. Another logged rides but forgot them if you reinstalled. None of them knew that the best part of riding is the people you ride with.
So we wrote our own. It reads the wheel every second, keeps the whole log, and shows the numbers that actually decide whether you make it home. Then it puts your rides next to your friends’ rides, because that turned out to be the thing that keeps people riding.
A small team of riders in Southern California. We ride the same wheels we write code for, which means bugs tend to get found on a Tuesday night group ride rather than in a bug report.
Wheel Life shows you what the wheel reports. It cannot stop a cutout, and a leaderboard is a terrible reason to ride past what you can handle. Wear a helmet, wear wrist guards, and leave headroom.
The app is free and it records before you make an account. If you like it, the community is right there.
